Med) ROLF OF HOMOEOPATHY           Homoeopathic medicine is a difficult and exciting art and requiring years of intensive study and practice and even today, after 200 years we still do not know how our medicines act, or how our patients are cured.           Homoeopathy is essentially a method of treating the sick, rather than a set of theoretical hypotheses about the nature of health and disease. It originated quite modestly as a new method of ascertaining the healing powers of medicinal substances. In conventional medicine, we are taught to reason from the symptomatology of the patient to the diagnostic category, the pathological process that they represent and then to give drugs to counteract or oppose that process by producing a contrary state in the body, under a single unifying concept, and we then give e.g. an antihypertensive drug, to lower the blood pressure, and thereby also to suppress or control the other symptoms insofar as possible. The homoeopathic physician, on the other hand, proceeds in exactly the opposite fashion, to recognize precisely those symptoms which are atypical or in any way distinctive or peculiar to this particular patient, and then to select that homoeopathic medicine which can produce the most exactly similar picture when given to healthy people.  That is why we say, TREAT THE PATIENT, NOT THE DISEASE, it is only this patient standing before you who can or cannot be cured, and that about him which is curable or incurable is something that is equally peuliar to him, and cannot simply be inferred from the presence or absence of this or that diagnostic category of which he can merely be a specimen. I am also thankful to the relatives of the patients who guided me by giving true pictures of the symptoms and time to time change of the condition of the patients. CONCLUSION The result of this research showed that Homoeopathic remedies are more effective than any system of medicines in this fatal and incurable disease Hepatitis. In most of the cases that we have seen the most common and drastic symptom is the fear of the disease Hepatitis B or C. In mostly asymptomatic cases the remedies were prescribed only on the basis of mental symptoms, family history and past ailments. It seems very difficult for a homoeopath to prescribe a remedy in such cases where no specific symptoms are available and patient is more conscious about health, and wants to be relieved from the numerical findings.   In the second group where we come across a lot of patients with history of early cirrhosis and virus as in its active stage and average age of all these patients is near or above 40 where besides other history of diseases past treatment, suppression, all the socioeconomic states and the political stress made a complex picture of mentally, emotionally and biologically diseased body. We get best results in such cases prescribing on organ remedies, pathological basis and emotional state. The result also showed that effect of homoeopathic remedies during the span of a few years, there is gradual decrease in ALT (SGPT) and other enzymes levels. This not only gives a psychological boom to the patient but also gives physician a confidence that he is going on right path. This downward trend of graph also showed that as the enzymes level become normal, the pattern of health and symptoms change from higher level to lower level or from vital organs to less vital organs. In results the virus becomes negative in most of the cases, and fatality rate is reduced with use of Hepaguard Elixir.   In the third group of patients where the pathology is so advanced that during treatment we need to send the patient a couple of times to the hospital for acute management such as aspiration of the ascitic fluid, blood transfusion, oxygen, for esophageal banding of varices and stricture, but even than the homoeopathic remedies has given them relief in continuously lowering their enzymatic level, miseries and the fatal side effects of the steroids and other life saving drugs. This group of patients is very very difficult to treat. But we have accepted the challenge and the result showed that many of them not only became negative but are still most respected and valuable member of the family and the society only because of Almighty Allah and homoeopathy.
